The Chattanooga Times Free Press is proud to present our annual Best of Preps event celebrating the best high school athletes in the greater Chattanooga area.
The awards dinner and program offer students and their families an opportunity to publicly acknowledge the athletes’ accomplishments and enjoy an appearance by a significant celebrity in the sports field.
This year’s celebrity guest was Kansas City Chiefs football star Eric Berry. Berry, originally from Fairburn, Georgia, is a former University of Tennessee two-time All-American then recognized as the best collegiate defensive back in the country. He was named the 2016 AP Comeback Player of the Year after battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma and returning to the Chiefs that year to be named to the Pro Bowl and AP All-Pro teams.
